The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has improved the legislation on the civil protection service. The corresponding law No. 6230 was adopted at a meeting on Thursday.
According to Ukrinform, for the law voted 274 deputies.
According to the explanatory note, the law will improve the provisions of the Civil Protection Code of Ukraine on the procedure for civil protection service by private and commanding officers.
In particular, it provides for the elimination of terminological and content inconsistencies; bringing the special ranks of the junior commanding staff of the civil protection service in line with the standards of the leading European countries and NATO.
Thus, the document proposes to replace the special ranks of junior sergeant of the civil protection service and sergeant of the civil protection service with one special rank of sergeant of the civil protection service, senior sergeant of the civil protection service and foreman of the civil protection service – with master sergeant of the civil protection service, ensign of the civil protection service and senior warrant officer of the civil protection service – to the chief master sergeant of the civil protection service.
It also provides for the improvement and regulation of the norms of legislation regarding the dismissal of private and commanding personnel from the civil protection service; the possibility of continuing the service by privates and commanding officers who are recognized as unfit for service for health reasons as a result of diseases, injuries (injuries, injuries) received in the line of duty; bringing the norms in line with the Law of Ukraine “On holidays”.
The law provides for the clarification of the wording of the norms regarding the provision of pensions for private and commanding personnel, re-admitted to the civil protection service under a contract in a special period.

The introduction of appropriate changes will ensure that there is no reduction in the size of the pension, including for rank-and-file and commanding officers from among women who are entitled to a pension (paragraph “a” of Article 12 of the Law) dismissed from service in bodies and divisions of civil protection due to age or health status.
The law provides for the enrollment to the length of service for the appointment of a pension to private and commanding personnel for the time of work in positions as employees who equally risked their lives and health when extinguishing fires, eliminating the consequences of man-made and natural accidents.
