All components of the integrated rescue system went to the incident shortly before eight o’clock in the morning. The 28-year-old Ford Mondeo driver was overtaken by a red Mazda, where a 45-year-old man was driving and carrying four children. “The Mazda entered the lane too early, and that’s why there was a collision with the Ford,” said police spokeswoman Iva Vršecká.
Both drivers suffered minor injuries and ended up in the Pilsen University Hospital. The ambulances also took four children there, ranging in age from 13 to 16 years. “Three girls and one boy have moderate injuries. Everyone was conscious and out of danger,” Mária Svobodová said for the regional rescue service.
Vršecká added that breath tests ruled out that the drivers were driving drunk.
