The Kommersant newspaper published on its website a picture of a captured Ukrainian pilot that appeared on social networks.
“The plane crashed for unknown reasons near the village of Butovsk,” RIA Novosti quoted the FSB statement as saying. According to him, Russian border guards detained a pilot who was trying to escape to Ukrainian territory. The FSB has opened an investigation against the violator of the state border.
The agency reminded that Russia’s border area is on heightened alert due to the threat of a “terrorist threat”, which includes strengthening controls at railway stations and other places where people gather, as well as strengthening the protection of strategic objects, including energy, but also other measures.
