The 69-year-old environmental lawyer is another of the many members of the Kennedy dynasty to try his luck in politics. Besides John F. Kennedy, his brother, former Secretary of Justice and Senator Robert F. Kennedy, was among the most famous. Both lost their lives in political assassinations, John in 1963 in the office of president, Robert in 1968, when he was running for the same office.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced on Twitter that he was considering a candidacy back in March. “If I run for office, my top priority will be to end the corrupt nexus of state and corporate power that has destroyed our economy, subverted the middle class, polluted our land and waters, poisoned our children, and robbed us of our values and freedoms,” he said at the time.

In addition to his award-winning work for the environment, Kennedy also drew attention to himself as a staunch opponent of vaccinations, for which he received widespread criticism, including from members of his own family.
The 80-year-old Biden has not yet announced whether he will run again next year, but he is widely expected to do so. Experts consider it highly unlikely that any of the Democrats would be able to defeat him in the primaries.
