The news about the filming of new Harry Potter events appeared already in 2021, then again this year on the third of April. However, it was officially confirmed only this Wednesday.

According to new information, each series will be based on one of the books. The series will be broadcast for ten years. It is also expected to have a completely different cast than the original films.

“We’re excited to offer viewers a chance to experience Hogwarts in a whole new way,” said Casey Bloys, chairman and CEO of HBO & Max Content, about the project.

He specified that their author, JK Rowling, is involved in the new processing of the legendary adventures. She will become an executive producer, along with two other people: Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts.

“What is important to me is the commitment of the Max platform, which promises to preserve the integrity of my books. I look forward to being able to participate in their new adaptation. It is a long TV series that will allow you to go into depth and detail,” said Rowling.

In this context, the American media remind that this is a return to show business for the British author. In past years, she paid extra for her comments, which concerned, among other things, trans minorities.

Variety magazine also mentions that Harry Potter is making money wherever it appears. Each of the seven books (they were published from 1997 to 2007) became a world bestseller. As are each of the eight films. They earned a total of 7.7 billion dollars (about 165 billion CZK).

The Fantastic Beasts film series was similarly successful. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is again successfully playing in theaters. You can see the show in Germany, England, the United States, Canada, Japan and Australia.

Harry Potter recently got into a video game called Hogwarts Legacy. It has long had its form in the form of toys, including Lego figures, and is also an attraction in numerous amusement parks.
