Night tours are supposed to relieve the busy objects from the day’s onslaught at least a little. Their season started in April and will last until the end of October.
If you are interested in them, you must arrive at the Vatican on Friday or Saturday, when the “closing time” is moved from the usual half past seven to half past eleven in the evening. According to the museum’s website, visitors are allowed to enter last at 9:30 in the evening.
However, if you want to combine everything with a visit to the Basilica of St. Peter, you have to go to the Vatican during the day anyway. It closes at seven in the evening.
