Raab also questioned the conclusions from the two mentioned cases, which, however, he did not specify.
“I believe that these two adverse conclusions are wrong and set a dangerous precedent for the proper performance of state administration,” said the politician, who said he intends to continue to support Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Some officials who worked for Raab say he was a tough and demanding boss. But others described him as “rude, aggressive and a bully”.
Raab denied the allegations, but said cabinet members must exercise direct supervision over senior officials. Otherwise, there would be a risk that they would not fulfill their constitutional duty. However, Raab apologized for offending or stressing anyone with his behavior.
“However, not once in four and a half years have I insulted or shouted at anyone, nor have I thrown objects at anyone or physically threatened or humiliated anyone,” emphasized Raab.
