Already last year, the organizers of the Rock for People event announced that their biggest program stars this year would be British Muse and American Slipknot. Then they were joined by the British The 1975 and the American Machine Gun Kelly. The special guest on the last day will be Václav Neckář with the group Bacily.
“We were one of the first big European festivals that already announced prominent names last year. This year’s edition will be marked by so-called big and mid-sized names as well as premieres by interesting Czech bands,” festival director Michal Thomes told Práv.
The Colors of Ostrava festival was not left behind. In February, its organizers announced the name of British singer Ellie Goulding, who released an album last Friday and will be one of the biggest attractions of the event. He joins OneRepublic, Macklemore, Niall Horan and others.
“Ellie Goulding will be the highlight of this year, her concerts are preceded by a great reputation. Other names represent a wide range of genres in addition to pop, the most interesting thing we’ve seen on our travels around the world. As is our custom, African music will once again receive a large and, above all, diverse representation,” announced festival director Zlata Holušová.
The organizers of the Prague Metronome festival have prepared the most varied program in their history. Jamiroquai, Zaz, M83, Aurora and others will arrive at the Exhibition Center in Holešovice in June. Exclusive performances by domestic artists are also planned.
Two one-day festivals will also take place in Prague. They are called Prague Rocks, the first will feature the Americans Mötley Crüe, the British Def Leppard or our Kabat, the second the Americans Maroon 5, Gwen Stefani or the British Rag’n’Bone Man.
Johnny Depp, a pirate from the Caribbean, will visit Slavkov in South Moravia. He is a member of the rock band Hollywood Vampires, which will be the biggest attraction on the second day of the Slavkov Open festival. His group also includes singer Alice Cooper and guitarist Joe Perry of Aerosmith. The day before, Deep Purple will perform at the same venue.
To the Venice festival! British singer and guitarist Chris Norman, who in the past was also the frontman of the popular group Smokie in our country, will arrive. “I heard about Venice that it always has a wonderful atmosphere. I’m looking forward to seeing it for myself,” said Norman.
The TrutnOff festival also has interesting foreign participation. After years of asylum in Brno, this year he will return to the Na Bojišti complex in Trutnov at the traditional date.
“Andrew Tosh’s reggae beats, Therapy’s raw Northern Irish riffs? and the band Asian Dub Foundation, combining live musical instruments with a DJ and elements of ethno, electronica, dub, dancehall, drum’n’bass and punk and sharp drums will surely make the entire Bojiště dance. In this way, we will follow up on similarly tuned performances in previous years, when the entire area drummed long into the night, even though the bands were no longer on stage,” said Marta Vrbová Věchetová on behalf of the organizer.
Domestic metal festivals have pan-European fame. Vizovice Masters of Rock, for example, welcomes many visitors from abroad every year. This year, the Dutch Within Temptation and the Swedish Europe, who presented their hits already in the eighties, will be the stars.
For several years now, Josefovský Brutal Assault has not highlighted the main stars in its program, on the contrary, it takes the participating artists, mostly from abroad, as equals. This year it offers four days with a program on five stages and one hundred and thirty bands.
Basinfi refest is a four-day festival in Spálené Poříčí. Last year, the organizers announced a greater emphasis on foreign bands, which they are fulfilling this year. More than fifty groups will perform, among the biggest stars are the Swedish Grammy Award winners Ghost.
