With the model Predator Triton 17 X (PTX17-71), the manufacturer is trying to appeal not only to gamers who want to enjoy modern AAA titles in maximum detail, but also to professionals from the ranks of graphic designers, editors or animators. The new laptop has such a high performance that it can put any desktop computer in your pocket.
At first glance, probably few people would say that. Despite the powerful components, the new Xko is relatively thin (19.9 to 21.9 mm). The metal CNC unibody chassis stands out with its polished sandblasted texture, micro-etched Predator RGB logo, stainless steel speaker mesh and strategically placed ventilation holes that line the back and sides.
By the standards of gaming laptops, this piece seems a bit staid, but many users will certainly welcome this minimalist design over bolder variations of colors and lights, which sometimes even carousels would not be ashamed of.

Under the hood…
Of course, the most interesting thing is hidden under the hood. The heart of the new product is a top-of-the-line Intel Core i9-13900HX processor in combination with an extremely powerful Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card.
The 13th generation Intel Core i9 processor impresses above all with its hybrid architecture, offering up to 24 cores at a maximum turbo frequency of 5.4 GHz. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 graphics processor in the laptop edition is built on Ada Lovelace’s powerful architecture, which increases performance with the help of DLSS 3 technology with artificial intelligence, which allows you to create realistic virtual worlds with full ray tracing. Its suite of Max-Q technologies optimizes system performance, power, battery life and acoustics for maximum efficiency.
The most demanding users can equip the machine with up to 64 GB of DDR5-5600 operating memory and up to 4 TB of PCIe SSD in RAID 0 mode for data storage.
The 17-inch display with an aspect ratio of 16:10 will also be an attraction for many interested parties. They will be able to choose from two different configurations, the highest one offers WQXGA resolution (2560×1600) and is based on mini-LED technology. Above all, players will appreciate the fast refresh rate of 250 Hz. Nvidia Advanced Optimus and Nvidia G-SYNC technologies also increase the smoothness of the image during gaming.
For the sake of completeness, let’s add that the panel offers a high contrast of 1,000,000:1 and a brightness of over 1,000 nits, thanks to which it meets the requirements of the DisplayHDR image standard.

Improved fans
Emphasis was also placed on the quality of cooling with regard to powerful components. Directly from Acer, Vortex Flow technology builds on three fans – this solution includes two specially designed 5th generation AeroBlade 3D fans with an air guide structure that help achieve 10% more airflow compared to the previous generation of AeroBlade 3D fans.
The Predator Triton X 17 is also equipped with other premium features, such as an RGB keyboard backlight, a fingerprint reader, six speakers with DTS:X Ultra surround sound, and a glass touchpad. Intel Killer E3100G+ Ethernet and Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1690i network solutions also deserve to be highlighted for gaming with the lowest possible latency.
The Predator Triton 17 X (PTX17-71) should appear on store shelves in June at a price of 4,499 euros (105,690 CZK).
