“The Czech Republic and the whole world are facing a number of crises that have an impact on people’s quality of life, on sustainable development, which should be our goal. Fear, disillusionment, and often frustration appear in people,” said Bartoš. According to him, politicians should try to reverse this trend and bring hope and perspective back into people’s lives.
Fiala told the delegates of the pirate congress that the current government has not failed to solve any of the crises so far, which were represented by the coronavirus epidemic, the rise in energy prices or the effects of the war in Ukraine, and is gradually fulfilling the joint program. “Our government has not failed to address any of these crises and the Pirates have been a solid and important part of our government,” he said.
The prime minister described the coalition cooperation with the Pirates as a “real partnership”, even though the ruling party’s opinions differ in many respects. “Our differences can be turned to advantage if we can respect and complement each other,” Fiala said.

He believes that the atmosphere of trust and cooperation will be preserved in the coalition and that the parties will remain allies for the promotion of the necessary reforms of public finances and pensions.
Fiala called the governmental union of the five most important democratic forces in the Czech Republic “extraordinary in its own way” and as a reaction to the situation when the former government of ANO and the ČSSD resigned from responsibility for the future.
“The extremism and populism that we defeated in the elections did not disappear anywhere. On the contrary, due to the current crises, it is even more daring and its danger continues to rise,” said the Prime Minister. According to him, those who shamelessly offer pleasant and simple answers are at an advantage, ultimately unrealistic and harmful.
“Each of us must do our part to protect the Republic from those who do not hesitate to sacrifice it for their own personal gain,” added Fiala.
Even the Pirates want to touch the salaries of politicians. It has nothing to do with ministers

The Speaker of the House of Representatives and TOP 09 Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of STAN Vít Rakušan and Chairman of the KDU-ČSL Marian Jurečka also called on the Pirates to continue their alliance and appreciated the cooperation with them.
In the video, Pekarová Adamová pointed out the need to remain “close, united, publicly comprehensible” in the coalition and “not to clear the field for those who think radical and extremist or are populist.”
She asked the Pirates for support for unpopular but necessary measures to restore the sustainability of public finances and pensions or to ensure housing affordability.
Jurečka until the third attempt
The Austrian said in the video greeting that the Pirates and Starostov are more liberal and are therefore closer to each other than their partners from the Spolu coalition, i.e. ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL. “There is still more that unites us than divides us,” said the Austrian.
He admitted that it was not possible to overcome some of the consequences of the fact that the Mayors from the previous year’s electoral alliance with the Pirates won more deputies with preferential votes.
Jurečka stated that the cooperation with the Pirates is “objective and correct” and in mutual respect for different opinions. “We do not make populist, pleasing solutions,” said Jurečka, whose recorded speech the organizers of the pirate congress managed to play only after noon on the third attempt.
The delegates also heard a speech by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. Zuzana Šubová, the president of the Slovak Pirates, came to Liberec for the Pirates, who would also like to get her party into the parliament this year.
