Currently, the accused man joined one of the companies in Jičín in January as a handling worker, but after about a fortnight they terminated his employment due to irregular attendance.
The former employee immediately contacted management, saying that although he joined as a worker, he was actually an undercover police officer tasked with following up on a case in the company.
“He was even supposed to arrange a meeting with the company employee in front of the police building, where he introduced him to the entire case. Furthermore, he should have agreed with him to place a listening device and also GPS modules in the goods that the company processes and transports,” police spokeswoman Eliška Pospíšilová informed about the case on Tuesday.

The man instilled trust and finally arrived with a van, which the company loaded with goods for almost 40 thousand crowns, with the promise that he would return the goods by the end of the shift. But the fake criminal disappeared forever, and the company turned to the police, where they had no idea about anyone like that.
The police finally caught the suspect, meanwhile, according to the investigators, he managed to steal a shed with construction and garden equipment on an unsecured plot of land at the end of March, causing more than 100,000 crowns in damage.
Criminal investigators charged the man with fraud in addition to theft. “He committed the theft despite the fact that he was legally sentenced to a suspended sentence for the same crime last year. Now he faces up to five years behind bars,” the spokeswoman added.
