“She was actually my teacher. That approach to creation and to life. She was eager for new things. I also learned honesty at work from her,” director and publicist Olga Sommerová recalled Soňa Červená.
Second career after November 1989
The singer emigrated to West Berlin in 1962. She returned only after several decades. “When she came here afterwards and started her second Czech career here, she brought honesty towards creation and art here. She really gave a lot to this country,” Sommerová told Novinkám.

“In those 18 years, however, we have had countless experiences. She dragged me to concerts, theaters, we always went somewhere and drove together,” said Sommerová.
In an interview with Nauzal.cz, she also recalled a story she had experienced with a friend: “When she was buying a tomb in Hradec Králové, I told her: Sonia, when people here see that tomb, they’ll think you’re already in the Lord. And she said: The longer I will live,” Olga Sommerová concluded the interview.
