“Regarding the situation in the Grajvoron Circle. It continues to be cleaned by the Ministry of Defense together with the power structures,” Gladkov said on his Telegram account, according to RIA Novosti. It follows from his words that soldiers, police and other paramilitary forces under the Ministry of Interior are being deployed.
He added that two people were injured in the villages where the saboteurs reached: “So far, the security forces have not been able to reach them. In the morning, that’s their No. 1 job. We hope to be able to evacuate them as quickly as possible and get them to a medical facility.”
During the evacuation, an 82-year-old woman died in the bus that was taking her away.
In the morning, Gladkov reported that a Ukrainian sabotage group had entered the area. She has already penetrated the area several times. The local offices of the FSB secret service were also repeatedly attacked. These were buildings used by border guards.
Guerrilla attack?
According to Reuters, the leader of the Legion for the Liberation of Russia, Ilya Ponomaryev, said that the border village of Kozinka had been completely liberated, and the advanced units of the legion had reached the center of the Graivoron district. That would mean they had infiltrated Grajvoron.
If it was possible to really occupy the village of Kozinka and advance further, it means that the sabotage group crossed the first line of defense two kilometers away from Gory-Podol. According to Ukrainska pravda, this shows that the front line is poorly protected and not held by well-trained soldiers.
The Ukrainian Hromadske station, citing Ukrainian intelligence, said that the attack on the FSB administration in Belgorod was carried out by two Russian opposition groups – the Legion for the Liberation of Russia and the Russian Volunteer Corps. The other one had already claimed several attacks earlier.
The Legion is a Russian militia formed on the territory of Ukraine, led by Russian opposition leader Ilya Ponomaryev.
An explosion at the FSB headquarters?
In Belgorod, they most likely dropped an explosive from a drone on the FSB building. Smoke can be seen on the roof of one of the buildings. “The road to the building is blocked. Firefighters are already on the scene,” the newspaper quoted a message from the Telegram social network. The authorities have not yet commented on the situation, in the region due to the declared “anti-terrorist operation” there is a ban on publishing information without the permission of the authorities.
