If those interested come with a valid driver’s license for the bus, they will receive a contribution of 150,000 crowns, as before, said company spokeswoman Hana Tomaštíková in a press release. The company is thus following up on a flyer campaign in cars, where it lures new drivers with various slogans.
Almost 1,500 drivers now drive for the transport company, with a total of 2,600 employees. He would need 50 more to reach the ideal state. Over the past two years, we have increased our employees’ wages by 18 percent and added free psychological care, physiotherapy or massages to the existing benefits. We try to ensure that our people do not have a reason to go elsewhere and, on the contrary, to be an attractive employer for new ones,” said CEO Miloš Havránek.
The contribution of 100,000 crowns will be paid by the company to new drivers in two installments. “They get 60,000 after completing the course or probationary period and 40,000 after a year of service. The condition is to stay with the company for at least four years and to work 6,000 hours during that time,” said Havránek.
The carrier will open courses for new bus, trolleybus and tram drivers after the New Year. “The recruitment process takes one to two months, so we recommend that interested parties apply to our personnel department as soon as possible. Even before the start of the course, they must pass a traffic psychological examination and medical examinations,” said the head of the personnel department, Vlasta Jánská. The courses last between two and 4.5 months, depending on the traction, but the participants already receive a salary during them. The average starting salary of a driver, including overtime, is almost 40,000 crowns, the average salary of all drivers is 43,000 crowns. According to Jánská, people who change jobs often come to the company, very often, for example, waiters, storekeepers or saleswomen, people from the administration or people who have a higher education but want to leave work with a clear head.
