A 22-year-old citizen of the Czech Republic is among the victims of the terrorist attack by the radical Hamas movement in Israel. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed about this on the X social network.
“He was in Israel visiting his girlfriend,” State Department spokesman Daniel Drake told Novinky, which first reported the news.
Oran Elfasi was fatally attacked by radicals on Kibbutz Nirim. “He advocated for peace, wanted to spend time with his girlfriend and certainly did not want civilians to die in Israel or Gaza,” the ministry wrote on the social network.
“My sincere condolences to the family of this Czech-Israeli young man. Let his story be another reminder of why it is necessary to fight terrorism.”
Islamist radical units attacked Israeli cities on Saturday, October 7. According to representatives of the Jewish state, 1,400 Israelis died in the attack, including three dozen Americans, as well as citizens of France, Brazil and Thailand.
The Israeli government declared a state of war on the same day, the army responded to the attack by bombing the Gaza Strip and, according to experts, is preparing a ground operation in the area, although in recent days Israel has indicated that it might not happen at all.
