Czech actors from fairy tales or comic creators have also promised to participate. According to the organizers, the festival will offer an entertainment program for children and adults who are interested in films, series, games and comics in the genre of science fiction and fantasy.
The protagonist of the Superman series, the American actor Dean Cain, will arrive. The pop culture weekend will be completed by Connor Trinneer, Michael Shanks or Lexa Doigová from Stargate or William Nadylam from the Fantastic Beasts film series.
“At the festival, the actors take part in debates, interviews, panel discussions on specific topics, and return to their most famous achievements. But it’s mainly about meeting fans who otherwise don’t have that opportunity,” said festival program director Václav Pravda.
“Program lines will focus on phenomena such as manga, anime and Japanese culture, Star Wars, Stargate, Star Trek and other science fiction. Of course, there will also be Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings and other fantasy,” added Pravda.
For lovers of costumes, which are specific to the festival, a cosplay competition will be held on the weekend, i.e. disguised as popular characters and icons. Workshops, exhibitions, video games, virtual reality and a Pokémon zone with tournaments and a card exchange await visitors.
Brno Comic-Con Junior mainly offers an extended program for young people, which is why Czech actors from fairy tales or authors of children’s comics will perform at the event. The representative of a number of princes and kings Jan Čenský, actress and dubbing artist Ivana Andrlová or Naďa Konvalinková and Vladimír Kratina will arrive. The second part of the book story Gump – the dog that taught people to live will be presented by the writer Filip Rožek and the dog Gump. Štěpánka Jislová, Richard Svitalský, Nikkarin or Dan Černý, who draws for the magazine Čtyřlístek, will be at the festival representing the world of comics.
The format of the event is based on fan comic-cons that take place in various places around the world, including Prague.
