Including the propeller blade, it reaches a height of 179 meters. It was installed by the S & M CZ company and has been in trial operation until now, the company’s CEO Martin Hofman told ČTK.
The company operated four wind power plants in Žipotín. One of the windmills, which has been there since 2006, will now be replaced by a significantly more powerful one. This made the permitting process easier, the project did not require an EIA assessment. The costs will reach about 180 million crowns, the investment was also supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with a European subsidy of around 40 million crowns. The power plant will cover the annual consumption of about 5,000 households.
S & M CZ operates 18 wind farms in seven locations. Their total installed power reaches about 23 MW. It has been building them gradually since 2003, after 2010 and the reduction of electricity purchase prices, development stopped. Now the conditions are more favorable for investments in wind energy.
According to Hofman, the company wants to build three dozen similar windmills in the future, the project in Žipotín is a pilot project. The company has already reached an agreement with the village of Gruna, and it wants to proceed similarly in other locations where its machinery is located. According to Hofman, it is able to supply local people with energy more cheaply.
An even more powerful wind power plant could eventually be located near the village of Stašov near Polička in the Svitavska region. PV Consulting wants to build a wind turbine there with an installed capacity of up to 7.2 megawatts (MW). Residents who took part in the poll agreed with the plan for the most part. For each installed MW of power, the company offers the municipality a payment of 300,000 crowns per year, which represents an annual benefit of 2.16 million crowns for the larger variant. Stašov has an annual budget of around six million crowns. The company also promises residents the supply of produced electricity for 2.5 crowns without VAT for a period of 20 years. If the power plant were to be built, it would not be possible to build another one in the vicinity, the capacity of the high voltage line would not be sufficient for them.
In the village of Krouna in Chrudim and its local parts, a referendum will be held on November 11 regarding the construction of a large wind power plant in the local part of Františky. The same investor as in Stašov wants to build a windmill there with a power of up to 6.5 MW. On the same day, a referendum will also be held in Anenská Studánka in Orlickoústek, people will answer the question: “Do you agree with the construction of wind farms in the territory of the municipality of Anenská Studánka and with the conclusion of a cooperation agreement with the municipality on a joint project with the company NOHO Energy?”.
ČEZ Obnovintelne zdroje wants to build ten to 20 wind farms in Svitava and Orlickoústek. For construction, she selected the area from Anenská Studánka in Orlickoústek via Opatov, Opatovec, Svitavy and Hradec nad Svitavou. Other places are located in the cadastres of the municipalities of Kamenná Horka, Pohledy, Sklené, Koclířov and Dětřichov. Residents’ opinions on the company’s plans will be determined in November by a sociological survey in the affected localities, the results of which will be the basis for future qualified decision-making by the representatives.
