Lidovci want to secure 70,000 places for preschool children by 2030. This was stated by MP Marie Jílková at the weekend program conference of the KDU-ČSL in Prague. It should be different types of places, not just places in traditional kindergartens.
“In order to ensure a sufficient number of places, a great diversity of care and forms is necessary – from babysitters, neighborhood watch to kindergartens,” said Jílková.
KDU-ČSL also intends to promote non-monetary vouchers for leisure activities for children. “For many parents, the clubs are unavailable. Sport, culture and organized leisure time. they are proven prevention of crime and social exclusion,” Jílková added.
A similar project was launched during covid, for example, in the South Bohemian region – low-income households there will receive up to four thousand crowns a year for circles.
In the coming years, in addition to family policy, the party wants to focus on topics such as the environment, climate change, sustainable agriculture or security.
People also want to push for a further increase in the parental allowance. People’s deputy Šimon Heller is a co-author of the proposal that families with twins and multiples receive more money. Minister of Labor Marian Jurečka stated at the conference that she supports the proposal.
Currently, it is an increase in parental allowance to 350,000 crowns. This would mean 525 thousand crowns for parents of multiple children. However, if Heller’s proposal were to pass, it would be 700,000. It would cost the state coffers 40 million crowns next year.
“The situation of parents of multiple children is always more complicated, it is more demanding. I think they deserve this form of increased parenting,” said Jurečka.
