The trail will be built by the Avocado company, which already built an educational trail in Borky in Kolín. Mayor Michael Kašpar (Změna pro Kolín) told journalists.
“It will concern the history of the area, some water management, the history of the mills that were there,” Kašpar said. The stops combine an educational part with game elements for children. There are also two mobile games in the works, there should be a different version from each side of the trail.
Apparently next year the city will follow up with further improvements, part of the route should lead above water. “A transition with a railing is being planned, there it will be for construction modifications, that should be in the second phase,” added Kašpar.
The Peklo pond was created between 1950 and 1953 by expanding a small pond that belonged to a nearby mill. During the construction of the city bypass, which was completed in 2012, roundels from the Early Stone Age and a settlement from the Late Stone Age were found near the pond. Archaeologists found a settlement from the Late Bronze Age on the hill above the pond in the direction of Štítary.
