It is not the first time that the American director has introduced himself to the Czech audience. His first Prague exhibition in 2014 was seen by over 100,000 people and became the most successful exhibition of the year.
Now, Burton’s imagination will spread across the space of the Municipal House, from May to September 2024. The exhibition, organized by the Art Movement company, will present film storyboards, sketches, scene designs and photographs from film classics such as Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands or Karlik and the chocolate factory or Mars is attacking.
But it will also offer Burton’s more recent work, which now entertains the younger generation of viewers. For example, the popular horror series Wednesday. “We believe that this time too we will please the entire next generation,” says Art Movement director Kateřina Riley.
As in 2014, Tim Burton himself will come to see the exhibition next year.
The exhibition of the visual storyteller known for his ability to combine darkness and exaggeration captivated visitors in New York or Los Angeles, in Paris, Melbourne or Seoul. It will start in Prague on May 1, 2024.
