Sam Altman (38) is leaving the post of head of the company OpenAI, which developed the ChatGPT chatbot. His home company announced it today. The management of the company will be temporarily taken over by its current technology director Mira Muratiová (34).
“The board carefully considered Altman’s departure and concluded that he had not been consistently candid in his communications with the board, which prevented him from performing his duties,” the company said.
Microsoft-backed OpenAI launched its ChatGPT chatbot about a year ago, sparking widespread interest in generative artificial intelligence and tech firms competing in the industry.
The term generative artificial intelligence refers to systems that, based on training on a huge amount of data, can create seemingly original outputs in the form of texts or images in response to user input.
