Sparta won over the Spanish team in European cups after 11 years. After a cross shot, winger Lukáš Haraslín scored the only goal of the match. Real Betis had a lot of chances during the match and especially at the end, the players pushed intensively to the end, but they did not manage to overcome the Danish goalkeeper Peter Vindahl.
Thanks to the unexpected victory, the Spartans kept their hopes of advancing. Sparta fans must now hope for a favorable result in Scotland Rangers’ match with Aris Limassol of Cyprus, which kicks off at 9pm. Both Sparta and Rangers currently have seven points in the table. However, Rangers have better head-to-head matches with Sparta, so in the event of a point tie, Rangers would advance to the knockout stage.
Sparta could also advance to the spring European Cup if they beat Aris Limassol in the last round and Rangers beat Real Betis. In that case, the Spanish club would be out of the game.
Viktoria Plzeň, which won in Tirana, Albania, over the Kosovo team FC Ballkani by the narrowest margin of 1:0, has already secured promotion from the first place in Group C in the European Conference League. The only goal of the match was scored by midfielder Pavel Šulc.
In the Pilsen club’s group, Croatian Dinamo Zagreb won 2:0 at Astana and with six points is well on its way to advancing from the group.
