Tameh Czech’s inability to pay came after Liberty arbitrarily stopped paying it for delivered products almost six months ago. The company Tameh told ČTK on Friday.
She stated that she has overdue obligations to creditors in excess of 255 million crowns. Since Tameh has nothing to buy coal with, the smelters are in danger of shutting down all energy supplies in a few days.
Tameh’s spokesman Patrik Schober stated that Liberty Ostrava currently owes Tameh nearly two billion crowns, of which 1.2 billion crowns are overdue. “Given that this is our only customer and Tameh’s operation is specifically adapted to supplies exclusively for this smelter, we are at a standstill. We have been trying to negotiate with Liberty Ostrava practically this whole year and find a solution, but to no avail,” said Schober.
